For every 3 positions that remain unfilled, you could have prevented 1.
What’s the driving reason why positions remain unfilled for a long time? 34% cite reasons that are within company control.
In Argosight’s survey of approximately 2,600 HR/ talent management professionals, 1/3 of respondents say insufficient internal resources to process candidates, a lengthy interview process, and indecision regarding company headcount are the driving reasons why positions remain unfilled for four months or longer.
With the shortage of skilled workers in the market, companies can’t afford to lose potential hires due to lack of internal resources and inefficient processes. In order to fill vacancies with the right talent, companies need to improve their recruiting capabilities.
How do they go about doing this? By addressing the 3 P’s of recruiting: People, Process, Platform.
- People – by having sufficient internal resources to work on filling the positions.
- Process – by having a defined process to move each candidate from source to hire.
- Platform – by leveraging technology platforms to track each candidate and report on overall progress of recruiting.
Addressing the 3 P’s will put companies in a better position to compete for skilled workers and deliver the talent needed to support business growth.
